A new voice based community music event, held in the historic Cathedral City of Brechin.
Voicefest, or Voice Festival Brechin to give it its posh name is a work in progress. This first year was a small scale version of the event, a taster of what is to come in future years. We are also planning a series of one-off. events throughout the year, and we hope going forward you'll find something you like, whether it's choral music, organ, barbershop, storytelling or folk music.
Our vision is to create a sustainable, fair trade and inclusive music festival that not only entertains but also engages with the local community as well as lovers of choral music and other voice based genres. All ages will be catered for with workshops and activities for young people.
Born out of a desire to use and celebrate the stunning Brechin Cathedral and bring a range of musical experiences, VoiceFest will be more than just a music festival. It will we hope build a community of music lovers, those new to singing and live music, artists and volunteers who will come together to create a unique and unforgettable experience.
Managed by Voicefest CIC (a Community Interest Company), the festival is organised with an emphasis on fair trade and sustainability and being a Fair Festival. Treating guests and performers with fairness and respect, sourcing fair trade and locally and minimising waste are core parts of our event.
