Why Join?

The Voicefest Club is an exciting new community project for Brechiners  aged 65+ years. We meet every Monday morning in Brechin Cathedral Community Hall for arts and social activity, fuelled by plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits. 


Our focus is on your wellbeing, and our morning is rounded off with a nutritious lunch served from our community kitchen. 


The Voicefest Club is funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, Corra Foundation Boost Grant and Angus Council and is free to all Voicefest Club members.

Or drop-in in person to Brechin Cathedral Hall on Monday 3 August between 10am – 11am.  Places are limited to 30 club members .


Our launch programme is all about finding your voice in a relaxed and fun atmosphere with the opportunity to participate in a workshop with acclaimed Scottish singer, Horse McDonald and sing in Brechin Cathedral with her and her band as part of Voicefest 2026.

2pm – 2.45pm song workshop with Horse McDonald

3.15pm – 3.45pm song performance for friends and family in Brechin Cathedral 

Mon 21 September 10am – 1pm weekly meeting with lunch FINAL MEETING.


Weekly meeting schedule


Mondays

10.00am – 10.30am: arrival for tea, coffee and biscuits

10.30am – 12.00noon: song workshop with breaks

12.15pm: communal lunch is served

1pm end of weekly meeting 


Fridays

2.00pm – 2.30pm: arrival for tea, coffee and biscuits

2.30pm – 4.00pm: song workshop with breaks

4.15pm: afternoon tea is served

5pm end of weekly meeting 


In the final session with Horse participants will hear from her about how she found her voice and share some of her technique.  Those wishing to take the exciting opportunity can perform some of  the Horse songs learned in the workshops live onstage in the Cathedral with Horse and her band.


Participants can invite family and friends to experience this short performance - for free.
